Boljoon R&R

Far away in the south of Cebu lies Boljoon, one of the oldest towns of Cebu Province. With amazing sites such rocky mountain cliffs, refreshing beaches, and ancient buildings & structures, you wouldn’t get bored exploring this exquisite vista, one of Mother Nature’s natural beauties.

Through my employer’s R&R (Rest & Recreation) program, I got the chance to venture the high waters of one of Boljoon’s famous resorts -- Club Fort Med. It’s awkwardly situated at the side of its main road so people on buses/cars could see you swimming by the beach! It’s not such a big deal though, since the road is highly elevated such that you’re just a small thing when seen from the top. Sometimes, rude commuters would holler at you, others would just simply speed by.

All in all, it’s a great resort – fresh water, fresh air. Here’s another flaw though, it has no shoreline, except for a very small one on its right side. Most part of the beach are low diving cliffs -- swimmers should be careful since the water could run very deep and the waves very high especially during high tides.

The resort is actually a fish sanctuary, what with its uncorrupted waters. In fact, there were a lot of fishes joining us and poking us at the same time while we were swimming :)

Unlike the R&R we had last year in which there were team building activities, we only had “parlor” games (lol!) and a pseudo-volleyball tournament. I only joined one game, just for the heck of it but hey, I won myself a prize! Guess what? (drumroll) a towel! LOL! What were you expecting? House and lot? Hehehe. But I loved it! I love towels :P

Anyway, we had to leave early. The travel time from Boljoon to the plant (Mandaue) is about three hours. *sigh* So much for “rest and recreation”, eh?

Sun-'baking'

Us. Crowding in the hammock.

Finally! Got the hammock to myself.

Time to hit the beach! In black??

Not ready when the pic was taken. Mari is looking the other way! LOL

By the rooms. Waiting for...shower! LOL

Time to go home *sniff*

Cam-whoring at the bus.

Mari and her fat cheeks.

Mari, her fat cheeks, and her dream house :P

While you were sleeping. Hehe!

See yah next summer guys!

Earn Extra Income from PickJack - Revisited

See Related Link: Earn Extra Income from Pickjack

Okay, so it has been almost 2 weeks since I joined Pickjack, a website that pays you by answering and posting trivia questions, and I bet most of you are curious of how much I've earned and how was my experience with them.

Since I joined Pickjack I have been answering a lot of trivia questions in their Take 10 page, and I've already earned a few (well, very few) bucks just by doing it. Of course, one can't expect to earn so much; there's no such thing as easy money. I thought that was enough (answering questions) but then I learned that you need to post a question in order to earn more. It is said in their FAQ page that your earnings are based "on how many questions you submit and how well other members rate your questions".

So after correctly answering 20 questions, I was able to post one question (20 correct answers qualifies you to post one question), until I reached up to 12 questions. It was really quick. I immediately got statistics on how many members answered and rated my questions. It was really fun and educational as well.

Until . . .

I wanted to post more questions since I was really having fun doing it. Plus, my earnings increased and I got really motivated. But then, just about 2 days ago, I noticed -- I have made like a gazillion correct answers already but why can't I post new questions yet? I checked it out on My Pickjack page and that's when I noticed that my "Number of Correct Answers" is not updating!!! It stays at 248 no matter how many times I've answered questions on the Take 10. Also, I keep answering the same questions! What the hell is going on??

Emailing their Admin was no use. I got no response whatsoever except that I kept receiving emails from them saying how much my current balance is and that I may want to recruit referrals in order to earn more. So that led me to wonder -- is it because I still got no referrals that I'm not earning anymore? Kind of unfair is it? I got really frustrated. Worse, when I logged in to my account this morning, my balance decreased by $0.01. I know, I know, it's really puny but hey, I worked hard enough to earn that puny $0.01! I was about to give up, when...

A new ray of hope materialized. . .

Just when I was writing this article, I checked my Pickjack account again for the last time, just to see if there are any improvements whatsoever. And viola! There were improvements indeed! My "Number of Correct Answers" was already updated, although by only a few counts -- it didn't include the correct answers I made since two days ago -- but I'll take it. And yes! My puny $0.01 was credited back as well! Oh sweet lord!

A Program Bug?

Well I guess one of the causes of all those haywire is probably a bug in their program, server, or whatever. I've also read on a blog from a Pickjack member that Pickjack may only be depending on Adsense as their source of payment so if they don't get enough Page Impressions, Ad Clicks, or Search Queries then your earnings may also be affected. Hhhmmm... Not such an eye-catcher huh? Well for me, as long as I am not cheated then I have no problem with their system. I'm not here to tell them what to do, right? But somehow, in a business entity, how you create your system also affects your profit. Some would even invest on large loans just to attract people to their sites but in the end, they would really get what they invested for, even more.

I forgot to mention, one thing I'm not so happy about Pickjack is that they are not transparent on how your earnings are calculated. At least give us some idea, right? So we don't get caught up with surprises.

Well anyway, I thought I was gonna give up on Pickjack, but I guess I'd give it another chance. I've only been a member for 2 weeks anyway so I can't really tell so much about it yet.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Danao Mountains

It felt just like yesterday when I last visited Danao, one of the oldest towns in the north of Cebu. One of my closest friends live there and we used to often hang out and travel around the place, admiring historical buildings and breathtaking landscapes.

This time, we actually got the chance to get together again and visit Danao for the first time in almost three years. The initial plan was to climb Osmena peak, the highest peak of Cebu, but aside from the unfortunate event that it was raining, people arrived an hour late from our ETA of 9:00am, as usual :) It was a sad thing coz we were actually preparing to have our lunch there, which would positively bring out a funny picture since we all had to carry our food (including one whole lechon) to the peak.

So we just stayed at our friend’s rest house on top of a hill. They have a small pool, which was, being on a mountain, very cold. But of course, it didn’t stop us from jumping in and taking a dip ;)

It was so far the greatest reunion we ever had, for me at least :)

I took some pictures as well of some gorgeous-looking plants while we were trekking up and down the mountain towards our friend’s house.

There was a weird-looking plant too...

That's it! I'll see you guys soon! ;)

Extra Income from PickJack

I came across this website where you can earn some extra income by answering/posting multiple choice questions. I googled it and some say it's a scam, others say it's not. I don't know, but I'm gonna give it a try. Anyway, it's kinda fun answering those questions and it's also free. You need to have a PayPal account in order for them to pay you.

Some users also say that when you are not actively participating, your balance will be deducted. I don't know about that either, it's not clearly stated in their rules or policy.

Well, if you guys are also interested, you can as well try it out by following my referral link: http://www.pickjack.com/register.php?r=veronizm since they also give bonus points for referrals. Make sure to research it first, okay? veronizm holds no responsibility in case anyone will be scammed.

Take care then!
